I don't think I've ever written a 5 star review - but this place is amazing. Best Calzone I ever had in my life, and you pick your own ingredients - on everything, including the salad which was fresh and so yummy. The chicken wings were great as well, nice spicy, hot fried mixture. We ate in and their restaurant portion is nothing fancy, but the food makes up for it. If you are in town and want great food, order from Uncle's. Thanks guys!

Instead of long waits downtown for an average and overpriced meal, try this for a better memory: Kids/family LOVED this meatball pizza with a side of wings and root beer in the hotel watching 'Super 8'. Delivered to the room, The thin crust was perfect for our east coast tastes. Cost of meal+movie was less than two entrees on Grand Avenue or 7th street. We will absolutely do this again on our next visit.

Great pizza, amusing and friendly staff. There are only two or three tables, so it seems like mostly a take-out joint. We stopped by here while on a road trip through CO, and are very glad we did. We've got picky eaters (carnivores, health nuts, and kids) and everybody enjoyed their pizzas (and salad).

The pizzeria gets high marks from me. First off, they offer a gluten free option which tastes really really good. Bonus points. Second, I love my artisan pizza, but I have never had an eggplant pizza that tasted so good! This place looks like a pizzeria that you would have found in California back when my parents were in their 20's, very authentic. It smelled wonderful and was very clean. The workers there we all very friendly and nice. I would highly suggest trying them out if you are looking for a good pizza to try.

On my top 3 for best Pizza! Great takeout delivery. This time I ate at their "restaurant" Hence only 4 instead of 5 stars. I know its not meant to be an eat "in" They do have a couple of tables, no ambiance, a bit on the cluttery looking side. But their Pizza is awesome! A girlfriend and I split a small. Plenty for us. And they will do 1/2 & 1/2 of their specialties without an upcharge. So we had 1/2 an Uncle Phil and & 1/2 and Uncle Stan (my fave) Pesto, feta and spinach. Their crusts are flavorful too. I ALWAYS recommend for take out.....now if we can work on the ambiance, it would be a great little spot to also frequent.

Gotta love me some uncle pizza, I think it's prolly the best pizza that I have ever had. Not much seating inside you might wanna take this pie to go.

WOW........and not a good one!! I'll be honest - I'm not a huge fan of "New York" style pizza usually. Every so often I will indulge. I'm also not a big review type either, but this time around.....I can't not review. I recently went to a fundraising event and ended up winning an auction item with $75 worth of coupons for Uncles Pizza. So I took my family and best friend out for dinner. Not a lot of seating so we had to put a couple tables together since there were 7 of us. They wiped the table down and grabbed some extra chairs from the corner. We had never eaten here before so we needed time to look over the menu. The guy came over and asked if we were ready, so I told him we didn't know what pizza we wanted but if we could go ahead and get drinks and a couple of appetizers that would be great. His reply?......"well we usually take the whole order at once." OK - I get that if its carry out or delivery, but WE ARE SITTING RIGHT HERE. He did manage to get the appetizers started for us (having to explain to the cook that we would be ordering more food because we hadn't decided yet) and brought out or drinks, in cans - ok kids, I guess there aren't any refills here. So we ordered our pizzas and that was all we wanted for now. He comes back a couple minutes later and starts explaining the bill to me, reading out the price of each item we ordered and then says "I checked it twice cause it seemed high." First off - what if we want to order more food later? Maybe I do want to get another can of soda. Anyway the total was $54.00 for 6 sodas, an order of macaroni and cheese, an order of hot sausage balls in a box, a medium pepperoni, and a large "Barbt".(basically a gyro pizza) So I give him three $20 coupons ($60). He advises me that he cant give change on a coupon (this is where maybe you offer another can of soda to each person to make up the difference - but that didn't happen) and I told him no big deal, I wasn't really expecting it. However, I realized that I had Three $5 coupons in the envelope, so I went up to ask if I could get one of the $20 coupons back and give them the three $5 coupons so I was only loosing $1. They did this for me, but seemed irritated and the guy that did it (the cook) said "so where did you get all these anyway?" Not sure it really matters, but I told him and he just replied "oh" as if I shouldn't be allowed to use them all at the same time. Anyway, somewhat put off by the experience of just ordering (and having a fussy baby) my wife decided to take the kids home, and my friend and I hung out to just grab the food and take it home to eat. We sat there a couple minutes and the cook threw the appetizers out on the counter on paper plates. I told him that we decided to take it to go instead, and again just with irritation in his voice said "ok" and put them into boxes (wasn't one of them "in a box" on the menu?) So we waited for the pizza to be done and then drove home. We sat down at the table and opened everything up. Here's where it gets frustrating. If I would have actually paid for this meal rather than having coupons it would have been taken back immediately. Below is what we ordered vs. what we received. Ordered: (for $4.50) Macaroni and cheese "Perfect for the nieces and nephews or as a side dish" Received: about 1 cup of store brand (not even Kraft) mac-n-cheese in a Chinese to go box. Ordered: (for $6.50) Hot sausage balls in a box "Bite size homemade tasty sausage balls served with your choice of sauce" Received: small sausage links cut into pieces and overcooked with marinara (no choice given) Ordered: (for $13.00) Medium pepperoni pizza (12") Received: Small pepperoni pizza (10") Ordered: (for $19.50) Large Uncle Barbt pizza (14") "ranch sauce, gyro meat, black olives, fresh tomato's, feta, pepperoncini's" Received: correct pizza but missing the feta and pepperoncini's The food was bland, tasteless, and greasy. The atmosphere while we were there left a lot to be desired, the service was minimal and somewhat rude, and the price was high. This is not a place that I will return to (even though I still have a $20 coupon). If I plan to spend that much on a pizza dinner for my family, White House has my vote.

We had a calzone and a stromboli... Oh yummy! Have you ever had mac and cheese in a calzone?! It was awesome! They homemade their ranch dressing and it was great as well! I would highly recommend this restaurant, and we would eat here often if we lived anywhere near!

I don't ever give bad reviews but they messed up on my order twice. I ordered two 17 dollar two topping pizzas 14 inch . One pineapple and ham and the other sausage and pep . They gave me a ham and pep and a pep and bacon. Ordered cheese sticks with ranch and they forgot the ranch. I mean I don't mess up at my job and its much more complex. 50 bucks I shoulda gotten exactly what I ordered am I wrong?

Neat idea as a take out pizza place with a few tables inside to sit down if one chooses. Unfortunately it took forever to make the pizzas. The pizza was only so so after a long wait.

This pizza is one of the best I've had! The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the delivery has been slower than expected on both occasions.

Would love to have tried their pizza, but the customer service was nonexistent. We come to Glenwood Springs once every couple of months or so and have tried to order from Uncle Pizza three different times, each time with similar results. The most recent time was on 2/12/15 around 8 p.m. I called and the person who picked up said, "Uncle Pizza, delivery or pick-up." I said delivery and his response was, "It's going to be a while." Ok... so how long do you think? Over an hour, he said. Long over an hour? "Over an hour." I appreciate the heads up, as I am a 10 year veteran of the hospitality industry. But if you can't give a reasonable delivery estimate, then what are you doing offering pizza delivery? The previous two times we called were similar in that the phone staff was extremely unprofessional bordering on rude. I hate to give just one star for a place when I haven't even tried their food, but we can't seem to get past the actual ordering process.

Horrible customer service!!! Tried calling on Sunday night around 5pm and yes there was a Bronco's game on later that night. I called not once and was put on hold 6 minutes, then Uncles was nice enough to hang up on us. Called a 2nd time and the same thing. Tried another phone and told them they hung up on me twice. The punk on the phone just said. "IT'S FOOTBALL, I DIDN'T ORDER FOOTBALL, YOU DID" and threw the phone down. REALLY! What piss poor customer service. So is this the only establishment on the face of the earth that has never heard of football on a Sunday? BEEF UP YOU STAFF PEOPLE!!! If Uncles would have just said, "HEY, WE ARE TOO BUSY TO HELP YOU" then I would have understood but don't put me on hold and then yell at me. I'll tell you there's a place call PIZZA HUT that was able to accomodate me with my order and it only took 20 minutes to get my pie. I'll never order from this place again.

I've never seen a pizza delivery dude rave about the pizza that he was delivering. That experience was unusual. But the delivery guy was right. The pizza was good.

Best Pizza in Glenwood! I love their cheeses! They have a great staff, delivery and delicious pizza! You can dine in or out. Keep up the good work, Uncle!

I love uncles Pizza it is everything pizza should be. Awesome toppings, even toppings I don't normally like I don't mind with uncles. Two favorites: pepperoni, green olives, and red onion. Their supreme or whatever is their version but with artichoke hearts instead of shrooms and bacon instead of sausage. I always order pizzas well done I just like the cheese browned more and grease cooked out a bit, oh and that perfect crust. Highly recommend, never a disappointment.

This is the best pizza in Glenwood Springs - possibly the Valley. Whenever we order pizza in, we order from here. They have great specialty pizzas, my favorite being the Uncle Stan. Delivery can take a while, especially on the weekend, so be warned! :)

Simply a great local pizza joint. This is our first stop in Glenwood Springs every time we go on vacation. Great toppings, great crust, even the sandwiches, especially the Italian beef, are great. Delivery is tasty, but there's nothing like eating there and tasting the pizza fresh and hot out of the uncle! ;)

We had placed an order at another place, but they misplaced our order. I'm glad that happened because it meant trying this place out. We ordered a pizza at 8am at night for take out. Quick service and the guy that helped was personable while we waited. Not only that, but the pizza was perfect...thin and flavorful. Hit the spot and oh so yummy!

We were visiting Glenwood and ordered pizza in a few times. Including Thankgiving night after our flavorless Thanksgiving meal from Whole Foods. I can't believe my husband drove all the way to Basalt for flavorless meal and we ended up having an epicurean delivery for a fraction of the cost and incredilble flavor. My kids like chees pizza, no sauce. You think it sounds boring and basic...However, they have sent it back. Not this time, they asked for a SECOND pizza. lol! I still crave the "Uncle Bob" which is a BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple. It's bursting with flavor. My husband likes triple pepperoni, extra crispy. We often get told that you cant do triple pepperoni extra crispy because of the grease in the pepperoni. Well, Uncle did it fabulously. The incredients are fresh, the crust divine, and service impeccable!!

The pizza was ready very quickly. We got an Uncle Mike and the meat on the pizza was so good. It tasted very freshly made. It is located under a restaurant, so it isn't very noticeable. It was a good thing that we stumbled across it.

Very good pizza, good custom salads, but very costly. We were given a time frame of 45 minutes to an hour for delivery to our hotel room, and it ended up taking 1.5 hours.

  • Gary S.

We got a 4 topping 16 inch pizza with normal crust delivered to our hotel room. They promptly delivered a hot and delicious pie. The sauce tasted homemade and the crust was pretty close to perfect. We would recommend this place to friends and will return. It is a bit pricey for pizza, but cost half of what we would have paid at a local restaurant. The man who took our order confirmed that the menu we had with a coupon that expired in 2010 was their latest menu. He was a character.

AWESOME crust!!!!! Do not miss this place. I love pizza, and thin crispy crust! The atmosphere is definitely misleading, so don't stress. The only thing that could have made the pizza better is beer - so maybe takeout next time....

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST pizza I've ever had anywhere. It's that good. The cannolis are to die for. If I could rate this 10 or 20 stars, I would.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
